Planning enforcement during the lockdown: is mediation the solution?
With the current standstill at the Planning Inspectorate, the resolution of planning enforcement appeals will be delayed. In this webinar Josef Cannon and Harry Spurr provide an overview of the main issues local authorities are facing as a result of this.
If you have responsibility for handling planning enforcement appeals, you will know that at present there is a standstill at PINS, with remote 'events' not being expected for six months. When those begin to take place, enforcement appeals are likely to be at the back of the queue. It is likely to be a long time before your enforcement appeals are resolved this way - and all the while the harm that lies behind them is ongoing.
Mediation could be a swift and inexpensive answer to this problem.
