Permission In Principle: In Practice

Meeta Kaur, Zack Simons, Duncan Field, Heather Sargent and Simon Ricketts discuss permission in principle.

An expanded “permission in principle” regime for major residential and residential mixed use development offers a potentially attractive alternative to outline planning permission and will be the subject of regulations this Autumn, to become law at the end of the year. The procedure could also be central to the Planning White Paper’s longer term proposals.

This webinar will look at the following:

  • What development will be possible under the new regime and what will be the advantages over a traditional planning application?
  • The role of local brownfield registers - progress, practical strategies
  • The nuts and bolts: screening for EIA, parameters, technical details approval, planning obligations
  • The bigger picture: PiPs landscape to date, the potential role of PiPs in Planning For The Future
