Public Law Webinar - disclosure and the duty of candour in judicial review - Francis Taylor Building

This lunchtime webinar will provide an update on disclosure and the duty of candour in judicial review.

It will be chaired by Richard Honey KC.  The speakers will be Stephanie Bruce-Smith of FTB and Dr Elizabeth O’Loughlin, Associate Professor in Public Law and Human Rights at Durham Law School.

Stephanie will provide an update on recent cases on the duty of candour and disclosure in public law litigation.  The cases will cover issues such as disclosure of Ministerial submissions, relevance, privilege, redaction, identification of individuals, and the duty on claimants.

Dr O’Loughlin will speak about the results of her recently-published empirical study of the duty of candour. This provides insights into the current operation of the duty of candour and on how the duty might need to change in response to evolving litigation trends and government decision-making practices.

The webinar will take place from 13.00 - 14.00 and will be hosted on Zoom. There is no charge to attend but places must be reserved in advance. Joining instructions will be sent to attendees from Zoom following registration.
